Leather care

Leather is a quality natural product. And relatively easy to take care of.

First of all, a few general tips.
Leather should not be cleaned to excess. Soiling is often very simply removed with a damp cloth. We recommend that you test on a hidden area first to check whether the dampness leaves traces. Simply let the test area dry afterwards.

Never use chemical stain removers for cleaning. Anyway, signs of use are often not defects at all. Leather connoisseurs appreciate a patina, the look of worn leather, as a bonus. The patina, they say, is the soul of the leather.

These are the most important care instructions:

Open-pore soft leather, e.g. Nappa

Use transparent or matching colour leather care cream or leather care spray for smooth Nappa leather.

Coated leather and patent leather/embossed leather

Do not put cream on these types of leather and do not use any leather care spray. Leather with a synthetic surface must not be treated, as it reacts to care products.

Naturally (aniline-) dyed and waxed leather

Try not to treat this leather at all. The more often it is worn, the more attractive it becomes. Signs of wear and the attendant ageing imbue the bag with a special character. However, should you treat the leather with a neutral care product, this will make the original colour of the bag about 30% darker.
